One arrest made in Deer Park burglary
Suffolk Police arrested a Bay Shore man, charging him with the break-in to a home on 18th St., in Deer Park Wed., Jan. 9.
The arrest was made after First Precinct Police Officer Ronald Treanor stopped a vehicle that was being operated erratically 1 a.m. Wed., Jan. 16. After determining that the driver, Roderick K. Williams, 29, of 1599 East Forks Road, Bay Shore, had a suspended license, Treanor noticed that the vehicle matched the description of a vehicle linked to the Jan. 9th burglary. Following an investigation by First Squad detectives, police determined that Williams was involved and charged him with Burglary 1st Degree. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd degree. He is being held overnight at the First Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on January 17. Police said that Treanor and another suspect not yet identified, broke into the apartment of Christian Younger, 32, at 373 West 18th Street, Deer Park 3 p.m. The two men assaulted Younger, and he was punched in the face numerous times. Later, a third man entered Younger's apartment as well.
The room was ransacked. Younger's cell phone was taken, and police are looking into what other items were taken. Younger was treated for facial lacerations at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.
