WB students hold Veteran's Day essay contest

Students at the South Bay Elementary School in the West Babylon School District participated in an essay contest in conjunction with their celebration of Veterans Day. The topic of this writing exercise was Celebrating Our Veterans. Alexandra Esposito, a fifth grader, won second place with her piece, which was inspired by a visit to Washington, DC. The first place winner was fourth grade student Emily Edwards. Emily was moved to compose an essay about her father and grandfather who are both veterans and her brother, who is a cadet at West Point. The girls won certificates and U.S. Savings Bonds.
