Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery winter recess programs
Wondering what sort of plans to make for your child's winter recess? Don't scratch your head, instead pick up the phone and call the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium. At the Hatchery a mid-winter nature related adventure awaits young ones in grades one to six. Your child will discover how winter affects life in its ponds and tidal raceway. They'll see for themselves how turtles dig in for the cold months and learn why the water in the ponds resist freezing even when the temperature dips lower than low. The Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium is open year round, seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, during June, July and August, it is open until 6 p.m. For further information, call 516-692-6768.
