W.I. students participate in "Friend for the Holidays" campaign

West Islip students in the kindergarten classes of Karen Tomlinson, Jennifer Greenman and Pam Hergerton at Westbrook Elementary School participated in A Friend for the Holidays campaign organized by radio stations WBLI and WBAB. The youngsters donated loose change because they wanted to buy a doll for a little girl, and fire truck for a little boy in crisis during the holiday season. "Sharing" is an important lesson for five-year-olds, says Principal Jack Maniscalco.
