Levy sworn in for second term

S.C. Exec. Steve Levy was sworn into office after winning reelection by a large majority in November. The inauguration took place at the Suffolk County Community College campus in Brentwood Jan. 6, with N.Y.S. Assemblyman Robert Sweeney presiding. U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard presented colors and S.C. Police Officer George Lynagh sang the National Anthem. An invocation was given by Rev. Monsignor Thomas L. Spadaro and the oath to Levy was administered by Judge H. Patrick Leis III.

Levy spoke about his hopes for the future of the county but reserved specific policy comments for his State of the Union address, which will be . "We often take for granted what an amazing concept this event is- one man who was placed in a position of power by the people freely relinquishes it to another because the system is bigger than any one individual.
