In an emotional ceremony, the Christina Rose Renna bench was dedicated in Christina's memory in the courtyard at Lindenhurst High School. Christina, a Lindenhurst High School student-athlete, past away this past January from cancer. After the pledge led by her brother R.J, a prayer from Father Joe Fitzgerald, and a message of thanks from Christina's mom, the ceremony continued with emotional reflections of Christina from her friends, Lindenhurst High School Seniors Sean Daly and Megan Stanton. Principal Daniel Giordano concluded with tearful memories and revealing the bench.
The bench was created by Lindenhurst High School art teacher James Morris. The items on the bench represent the attributes that Christina possessed: A love for track, Disney, and the strong will to fight to defeat cancer for other young people.
