Students recognized for their community volunteerism

Twenty-eight Lindenhurst school students recently received the President's Student Service Award in recognition of their community volunteerism over the past 12 months.

The ceremony was part of an effort by Assemblyman Bob Sweeney and Town Supervisor Steve Bellone to recognize and promote volunteerism in our communities. The students all volunteered at least 50 hours of service in the past year, both through school and on their own time.

Student award recipients were: Bronze Awards - Alyssa Berrent, Arianaa Irizarry, Brett Keeler, Brittany Keeler, Christina Taparata, Dana Dennedy, Dayana Sciascia, Hailey, Spinella, Hope Dunbar, Jaacqueline Theal, Kailee Puk, Kerri Keeler, Kimberly Harrell, Kyle Keeler, Michael D'Italia, Peter Mangione, Ronald Kennedy, Sydne Spinella and Tianna D'Italia. Silver Awards went to Brittany Berrent and Jamie Sciascia and Gold Awards went to Christina Aniello, Doriann Lewis, Kerrie Caahalin, Mary Meloro, Nikki Sciascia and Ryan Singer.
