Family Service League gets support for family support programs

Family Service League (FSL) is pleased to announce that thanks to the efforts of Suffolk County Legislator Lou D'Amaro, FSL's Manor Field Family Center will be able to continue many of its programs for children and youth. The programs have been funded in the 2008 Suffolk County Budget. He was supported in his efforts by a majority of the County Legislature.

The Manor Field Family Center provides comprehensive and critical family support services under one roof. A significant number of programs for children and youth are provided by the center. Some of the programs the center runs are: Homework Help assists children with academic and behavioral goals through assistance with homework; recreational, cultural and weekend activities are provided for healthy family fun; and youth counseling which includes individual and group counseling to help youngsters deal with problems in a safe, supportive environment.
