Babylon School District kindergarten registration information

Babylon School District offers a full day kindergarten program for students residing within district lines. In order to enroll in the program this September (2008) children must be five years old on or before December 1, 2008 and register during the open registration period. This year, residents can register their children on: March 7 and March 10, 2008, 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Elementary School and then on March 13, 2008 6 to 8 p.m. at the Elementary School.

Two proofs of residency (no bills are accepted) must be presented at registration. Preferred proofs include an updated town tax bill and a license with current address (photo ID.) If the license does not have a current address, an additional proof of residency (i.e., mortgage statement or copy of deed) will need to be presented. In the case of a rented home, you will need an updated copy of the lease and notarized owner's affidavit (only if license does not show current address).

Parents must supply the district with the child's most recent immunization record. Children must have two MMRs and varicella in order to sign up for Kindergarten Screening. Physicals will be mandatory prior to the start of kindergarten.

Registration packets will be available for pick up in the Elementary School Office, 171 Ralph Avenue, one week prior to the first registration date.

Note that: kindergarten orientation is on May 6, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Kindergarten screening is on May 15, 16, 21, and 22 at 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
