Property Taxes Due by January 12, 2009 Islip Town Receiver of Taxes Virginia E. Allen has announced that her office, located at 40 Nassau Ave., Islip, is now accepting payment of 2008/2009 taxes. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the following exceptions:

-Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 - 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon

-Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 - Closed

-Extended Hours on Jan. 12 - 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Residents can save time by mailing their tax payments. However, to avoid penalty, all payments must be postmarked by the Post Office no later than Jan. 12, 2009. The Tax Receiver's Office is located at 40 Nassau Ave., Islip, New York 11751-3645.
