Dear Editor:

My New Year's Resolution will be to stay debt free for 2009. To do this, I will follow a pay as you go policy with no deficit spending.

If I should get a 2009 stimulus check I will put it into a bank. Later on I will spend it on the new taxes that our Congress and the President have in mind for me.

Dear Editor:

I've seen some amazing things in my lifetime: a man walking on the moon; the dismantling of the Berlin Wall and a person with African-American heritage being elected President of the United States.

There are some other things I would like to see: the end of hunger, poverty and disease; the creation of peace and the end of discrimination locally and globally.

Wouldn't that be truly amazing? Wouldn't that be a better world? Matt Swit Amityville
