KIC Junior Commissioners honored by Islip Town

2008-12-04 / People/Social

Bay Shore High School's Junior KIC (Keep Islip Clean) Commissioners: Andrew Cohen, Matthew Cohen, Ben Schuman, and Christine Spiegel were inducted recently at the Town of Islip. Recommended by Principal Rob Pashkin, these individuals demonstrate environmental concern as well as social, civic and academic responsibility. The KIC program enables the students to play an active role in making Islip a cleaner and more beautiful place in which to live and instills in them a sense of pride and ownership in their community. Among many exciting projects, the Junior Commissioners helped launch the Sneaker Recycling Program that has become a huge success.
