Babylon Homecoming 2008 Spirit - Victory - Pride
School spirit and community pride were at an alltime high as spectators filled the stands at Babylon Junior- Senior High School for the start of Homecoming 2008. Board of Education members, administrators, parents, students, and community members were all there to cheer for the Babylon Panthers as they took on the Shoreham- Wading River Wildcats.
Prior to the start of the game, the school's band, student-actors, cheerleading team, and Homecoming court participated in the annual homecoming parade through downtown Babylon Village.
The home team set the tone right from the start and the Wildcats proved to be no match for the Babylon Panthers. Hard work, determination, and skill put the Panthers on the scoreboard early and gave them reason to never look back.
During halftime, the band once again performed, while the cheerleaders performed their dance routine to a loud round of applause from the crowd. The traditional crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen and introduction of the royal court also took place. This year's Homecoming King and Queen were seniors Harrison Newman and Michelle Janaszak.
The second half of the game was a repeat of the first, with the Panthers dominating their opponents. Head Coach Rick Punzone, along with assistant coaches Mike DeJoseph, Chris Morra, and Bill Singleton, coached the team to a 40-0 win over the Wildcats.
