Lifetime Bay Shore resident, Nancy Michels

Loving mother and homemaker Nancy H. Michels, who spent her life in Bay Shore, died Oct. 20, 2008. She was 70.

Born in Bay Shore, she lived for a short time in Brightwaters before moving back to Bay Shore. She lived on a First Avenue and Park Plaza for many years.

Mrs. Michels loved to spend time with her family and care for her home. For many years, she drove a mini school bus and, worked on and off at local supermarkets.

She leaves behind her children: George and his wife Holly of Bay Shore, Diane Jacobson and her husband Lee of Florida and James of Hauppauge. Her grandchildren, Robert, Douglas, Jason and Meagan, and her siblings, Susanne Silhan and Furman Thomas also survive her.

She reposed at the Overton Funeral Home, Islip, on Oct. 23, 2008, A Funeral Service was held on Oct. 24, 2008 in the funeral home followed by interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Bay Shore.
