Lindenhurst's Albany Avenue Elementary School fifth grader Gabrielle Dellaro and third grader Jennifer Goldberg are winners of the "Military and The Price of Freedom" essay contest sponsored by the Town of Babylon. Gabrielle received a $100 U.S. Savings Bond for her first place entry and Jennifer received a $25 U.S. Savings Bond for her Honorable Mention essay.

The contest was open to elementary school students in grades 3-5 who reside in the Town of Babylon. The essay required a minimum of 75 words. A panel of veterans judged the contest and each winner had the opportunity to read their essay at the kick-off event at the Town of Babylon's Veteran's Awareness Week program.

"We are very proud of our Albany Avenue winners," said Principal Frank W. Grotschel.
