William Rall Elementary School in Lindenhurst Pumpkin Patch

2008-11-20 / Schools/Sports

Lindenhurst's William Rall Elementary School students enjoyed picking and buying pumpkins from the school's own patch. Classes came to the patch where the over 650 pumpkins were spread out on the field. Each student enjoyed a mini pumpkin, thanks to the PTA.

Each class had their photos taken and the pictures will be available for purchase at parent-teacher conferences in November. The students also had the opportunity to purchase mums, bales of hay, and corn stalks.

The kindergarten classes went back to their classrooms to special "centers of learning" including cookie decorating, weighing and measurement, making pumpkin books, tracking the growth of pumpkins, descriptive words and illustrations.

Pumpkin lady Susan Frontera loves "doing crazy things like putting on a pumpkin costume." Her two grandchildren attend William Rall.

Shown in the photo, William Rall third graders smile with the Pumpkin lady Susan Frontera at the Pumpkin Patch.
