Deer Park Schools advance Science curriculum with Science lab upgrades
      Deer Park John F. Kennedy Intermediate School christened its newly designed science lab to increase hands-on student participation. Science teacher Nicole McAdam welcomed students into the classroom and reviewed safety rules to ensure proper procedures are always followed.

Long Island scholar artists
      Seniors, Chelsea Lane and Susan Loeb were named Long Island Scholar Artist Honorable Mentions for 2008-2009. Both young ladies challenge themselves with rigorous honors and advanced placement courses, while being members of a dance company and chorus and orchestra, respectively. They will be honored at a ceremony in the spring.

Lindenhurst High School's 2008 Pep Rally
      Spirit and excitement were displayed all over Lindenhurst for this year's homecoming festivities. The fun began on Friday afternoon, Oct. 3 at Lindenhurst Middle School for their annual Pep Rally. Team members from all the sporting teams showed off their "Lindy Pride." Green and white were seen everywhere from head to toe.

North Babylon Schools welcome world-renowned musician
      On Thurs., Sept. 25, the world-renowned Daedalus Quartet returned to the North Babylon School District to host tuning workshops at Robert Moses Middle School and North Babylon High School. This was the first of a threeday residency that will benefit musicians of all ages and skill levels throughout the District.

West Babylon 6th graders sneak peek at junior high school
      West Babylon Junior High School in the West Babylon School District held its 12th annual Sixth Grade Parent and Student Visit on Aug. 28. The school invited students from all five elementary schools along with their parents to go on a tour of the junior high. There were approximately 540 attendees who were shown around by members of the National Junior Honor Society.

William Rall Elementary School in Lindenhurst Pumpkin Patch
      Lindenhurst's William Rall Elementary School students enjoyed picking and buying pumpkins from the school's own patch. Classes came to the patch where the over 650 pumpkins were spread out on the field. Each student enjoyed a mini pumpkin, thanks to the PTA.
