Longtime West Babylon resident Dorothy Anderson died Oc. 11, 2008. She was 89. Born Dorothy Uhll on May 29, 1919 in Brooklyn, she moved to Clinton Corners, New York in 1964. In 1979, she moved to West Babylon. Before she stayed home to care for her home and family, for many years she worked in the stocks and

bonds department of AT&T.

According to her daughter, Marilyn Berg of West Babylon, her mother was a devoted parishioner of the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Babylon and was a gifted baker, knitter and crocheter.

In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Anderson leaves behind her grandchildren, Roy and his wife Renada, Nancy and her husband Ken, Laura and her husband Ralph and Glen and his wife Jessica. Her six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, her sister Evelyn Felter, her niece Janet and her husband Paul, and her great niece and nephew, Jennifer and her husband Kevin and Matthew also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband Allan.

She reposed at the Lang-Tobia-DiPalma Funeral Home, Babylon, on Oct. 16, 2008. An Order of the Eastern Star Service and a Religious Service were held at the funeral home on the same day. The funeral was held on Oct. 17, 208 followed by interment at Upton Lakes Cemetery, Clinton Corners, New York.
