      Longtime West Babylon resident Dorothy Anderson died Oc. 11, 2008. She was 89. Born Dorothy Uhll on May 29, 1919 in Brooklyn, she moved to Clinton Corners, New York in 1964. In 1979, she moved to West Babylon.

Fred Waldron, Babylon Village resident
      Babylon Village resident and retired New York City Transit bus driver Frederick Ronald Waldron died October 17, 2008. He was 71. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Elmont for many years before moving to Amityville in 1994. He lived on Village Oaks Lane for 14 years. From 1956 to 1958, Mr. Waldron served as a cook in the U.S.

Jack Greaney, Oak Beach resident
      Former Massapequa business owner and resident John Francis "Jack" Greaney, Jr. died Oct. 22, 2008 after a brief illness. The 87-year-old also had a home on Oak Beach in Babylon. "My father-in-law had an innate ability to make others feel special and at ease," said his son-in-law, Michael Watt of Babylon. "That quality served him well in business and in life.
