Babylon students starting new school year

Shown in the photo, Babylon Grade School students were all smiles as they arrived at school on Sept. 3, ready to begin the new year. On Sept. 3, the first through twelfth-grade students in the Babylon School District boarded familiar yellow school buses and went back to school. With backpacks filled with new school supplies, the students were happy to reunite with old friends and looked forward to meeting their new classmates. The district's kindergarten students began their academic journey through the district on Sept. 4.

At the high school, the start of the 2008-2009 school year marked a special milestone in the lives of the building's upperclassmen. For the senior class, this September symbolized their last first day of school in the district. As they walked through the halls of Babylon Junior-Senior High School they felt prepared for the nearing conclusion of their Babylon journey.
