The Babylon Travele rs' Club held the first meeting of its 103rd year on Oct. 6 at the West Islip Library. T o begin the year's study

of Poland., Nancy Newton's paper, Landscape of Poland, was read. This country, the size of New Mexico, has two main regions: plains and uplands. It's the home of the Carpathian Mountains and the Oder and Vistula Rivers. A film on Poland completed the club's introduction to the study.

 

Jocelyn Pisasi brought three mementos from her mother Althea Baldwin's collection including a copy of the Babylon Eagle for Oct. 6. 1933 announcing the club's study of Scandinavia, a 1956 leaflet for the club's 50th anniversary and a newspaper photo of club members from 1957.
