Woman killed in motorcycle crash on  Route 110

A 50-year-old Amityville woman, who was a passenger on a motorcycle, was killed on Sunday following a collision with a car on Route 110.  Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating the crash and gave this account:  Kenneth Surprise, 46, of 284 Sioux Ave., Amityville, was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Route 110 just south of Southern State Parkway in Amityville when he hit the back of a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban at 1:56 p.m. His passenger, Katherine Young, 50, also of 284 Sioux Ave., was thrown from the motorcycle.   Surprise and Young were transported to Nassau University Medical Center where Young was pronounced dead. Surprise is listed in stable condition. The driver of the Suburban, William Bischofberger, 44, of 11 Sheep Pasture Lane, Huntington, was uninjured.   Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check and the investigation in continuing.
