Raising awareness in school zones

2008-10-23 / People/Social

Suffolk County Leg. Wayne R. Horsley secured funding for "Smart Signs" which have been installed on Park Avenue, Babylon near the Babylon Memorial Grade School.

Permanent speed awareness signs have a large digital read-out displaying a driver's speed as they pass the electronic signs. In order to ensure the safety and well being of our children and all our residents, slowing traffic in school zones is a full-time necessity.

Dr. Peter Daly, assistant superintendent, Babylon Mayor Ralph Scordino, School Superintendent Dr. Ellen Best-Laimit, Leg. Wayne Horsley and School Board Trustee Anne-Martino were on hand for the unveiling.
