Babylon HS Presents the Broadway Musical Urinetown

A tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time of a terrible water shortage in a Gotham-like city is about to unfold on the stage at Babylon Junior-Senior High School as the school’s Drama Club presents Urinetown. With their voices ready and a deep understanding of the story line, the students have been rehearsing tirelessly to ensure that this year’s show will hit a high note with audiences. The musical, which is being called ‘one of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent history,’ is based on the book by Greg Kotis, and includes music and lyrics by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann. The production will debut for two evening shows on November 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium, with a 2 p.m. matinee on November 16. For ticket information or to reserve your seat, contact 893-7910. In addition to the three regular performances, the school’s LEO Club will also be hosting their annual Senior Citizen Evening Dinner and Show program for all community senior citizens. The program will be held on Thursday, November 13. A pasta dinner will begin promptly at 3:45 p.m. at the high school (50 Railroad Avenue, Babylon) and be followed with a 5:00 p.m. start time for the show. For planning purposes, reservations are required for this free event. To RSVP please contact LEO Club Advisor Lisa Consolo at 893-7910 by Monday, November 10.
