The Town of Babylon held a ceremony to dedicate the new waterfall located at Town Hall in memory of Douglas Hassell. Hassell was the owner of Hassell Auto Body and was very active in the Town of Babylon community. Town officials and Hassell's family members gathered at Babylon Town Hall to pay tribute to his life and work in the community.

The engraving on the stone at the waterfall reads:

Douglas G. Hassell, Sr., 8/4/1939 - 11/30/2007

Even though he worked so hard creating and growing Hassell Auto Body to what it is today, his heart remained immersed in his family and the community he loved so much.

Among those on hand for the dedication were Doug Hassell's wife Ann, his son Doug Jr. with his wife Cathy, his daughter Kelly Wood with her husband Robert, Doug's grandchildren, Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone, Councilman Tony Martinez, Receiver of Taxes Corinne DiSomma and Suffolk County Leg. Wayne Horsley.
