Deer Park Fire Department honored by Leg. D'Amaro
Shown, standing in front of a vintage 1930s fire vehicle used in the parade, Leg. Lou D'Amaro (DNorth Babylon) presents a County Proclamation to Deer Park Fire Department Chief James Mare in commemoration of the Department's 75th Anniversary Celebration Parade. Shown in front is Leg. D'Amaro's son, Louis. Three former Deer Park Fire Department (DPFD) officials served as honorary Grand Marshalls and joined current Chief James Mare, department members and other local fire companies at a community parade to celebrate and commemorate the DPFD's 75th anniversary. Suffolk Leg. Lou D'Amaro (D-North Babylon) and other local dignitaries welcomed Ex- Chief John Lee, Ex-Chief Anthony Trombetta and Ex-Captain Mike Carucci as the parade kicked off on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park, turned into Deer Park Avenue and ended at the firehouse on Lake Avenue. Just prior to the parade, Leg. D'Amaro presented a Proclamation to the DPFD honoring the 120 dedicated members who provide a vital service to the community in responding to more than 3,000 fire and rescue calls each year. "I know all of Deer Park stands with me in thanking these volunteers for caring so much about their neighbors and putting their lives on the line each and every day, as they have done for the past 75 years," D'Amaro said. "It is an honor to recognize them on this special anniversary."
