"I can't believe this," said Gina Masotto, a parishioner. "I am outraged. A church is holy land. I can't believe someone would desecrate our parish center with hateful messages. Whoever did this needs mental help."
The latest incident occurred between Sat., Sept. 13 and Sun., Sept. 14 when it was discovered that someone spray painted anti-religious phrases at several locations on church grounds. Police said this is the latest in a series of incidents at the Church in the past year.
Police are asking for the public's help in solving these crimes. Anyone with information can contact the Hate Crimes Unit, 631-852-6323 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
