Sinai Reform Temple of Bay Shore welcomes Rabbi Emily Ilana Losben as its spiritual leader and teacher.

Rabbi Losben officiated at her first service in Bay Shore on Friday, August 15th and the Congregants were inspired, they learned, they had a spiritual experience, and even enjoyed the service (including the sermon). Said Marian Kent, a long-time member of Sinai Reform Congregation, "Rabbi Losben's is going to bring so much to this Temple. She has so much to offer us with her personality, education and experience. We are truly fortunate to have her as our Rabbi."

Though this is her first pulpit, Rabbi Losben, or Rabbi Emily as she is sometimes called, comes with notable credentials. She received her masters degree in Hebrew letters and rabbinic ordination at Hebrew Union College. Prior to that, she received a masters degree in Educational Administration from Xavier University, and she earned a Bachelor's Degree in French, Political Science, and Communications from Albright College. She has served as Student Rabbi for pulpits throughout the Country and has also held educational positions at various synagogues.

Rabbi Emily said "I feel truly blessed to be the rabbi at Sinai Reform Temple. It is a wonderful, warm place and I know that together we'll grow spiritually and programmatically. I'm truly looking forward to sharing many simchas [happy occasions] with my new family here in Bay Shore."
