$300,000 Raised at 11th annual GSH Golf Classic
The 11th annual Good Samaritan Golf Classic raises more than $300,000 to benefit the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation with Heath Care Professional Education being highlighted.
This year's honoree was Henry C. Schreiber, Jr., President of Henron Development Corporation as well as a Board of Trustees member. Chairing the event for 2008 and 2009 is William G. Laverty of Wiedersum Associates Architects, PLLC. According to Laverty, "The Golf Classic is a great opportunity to reach out to our friends, business associates and the community, for the purpose of supporting the services of Good Samaritan. I would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's event for their continued support. Together, we have once again assisted the Hospital in continuing its mission of delivering the highest quality health care to the many patients and families it serves."
The first place foursome at Southward Ho County Club, in Bay Shore, included Jim Phillips, Plant Engineering from St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, Joe Posanti, formally of Plant Engineering at Good Samaritan, Bill Fagan, Security Director at Good Samaritan and Roger Herzog, Director of Telecommunications, Good Samaritan. "We participate to assist the hospital and we appreciate all of the vendors who support the event and make the golf classic such a huge success," said Herzog. Winning first place at St. George's Golf and Country Club, in East Setauket was Frank Fiorino, Richard Norwalk, Dennis Maloney and Steve Maloney all guests of J.C. Broderick and Associates, Inc
This year's classic sponsor was Astoria Federal Savings. Other major sponsors included Bower, Sanger & Lawrence, P.C., Island Acoustics, LLC, Sandler O'Neil + Partners, Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP, Master Mechanical Corp., Lessing's, and Hunter EMS Ambulance to name a few.
