Lindenhurst printer and longtime resident Calvin T. Reinhardt died at University Hospital in Stony Brook on July 17, 2008. He was 83.

He was born on November 21, 1924 in Lindenhurst to William J. and Margaret B.K. (Stipp) Reinhardt and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Most of his life was spent in Lindenhurst, except the last ten when he lived in Westbury.

For many years, he ran a family printing business, William Reinhardt Sr. & Sons, on High Street in Lindenhurst. The business closed in 1975.

Mr. Reinhardt was a member of many local groups. He was past commander of the Nassau-Suffolk DAV #209 in Garden City, adjutant for AmVet Post #18 in East Islip, and a member of the American Legion Feustal Kurdt Post #1120 in Lindenhurst.

He leaves behind his daughters: Margaret Chasse of Manor Haven, Katherine Brescia of Brentwood and Carol Manicone of West Babylon. Nine grandchildren and his brothers, Joseph J. Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Wesley of Lindenhurst also survive him.

The Rev. Dr Louise Stowe-Johns, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Amityville, conducted a Funeral Service in the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville, July 21, 2008. Interment followed in Breslau Cemetery in Lindenhurst with military honors.
