Congratulations go to the Girls Minor League Softball team for winning the Silver Bracket of the District 34 Tournament. The girls had a successful summer season and showed consistent improvement from start to finish. The girls ended their season with a 9 - 7 victory over Larkfield to become the champions of the Silver Bracket. Lindenhurst printer and longtime resident Calvin T. Reinhardt died at University Hospital in Stony Brook on July 17, 2008. He was 83. He was born on November 21, 1924 in Lindenhurst to William J. and Margaret B.K. (Stipp) Reinhardt and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Most of his life was spent in Lindenhurst, except the last ten when he lived in Westbury. More...
Prayers and press come together in Atlanta
Two forces converged at a hotel in Atlanta last weekend; one was there to glorify God, the other to work for freedom and country. It was a dynamic blend that one person called the work of the angels and the devils. The "angels" were 1,000 members of the Southern Women's Chapter of the Seventh Day Adventists.
