W.Babylon resident named MVP at Cobleskill

SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team member freshman Danielle Skene of West Babylon and a graduate of West Babylon High School, has been named the program's Most Valuable Player for the 2007 season. Skene received her award at the college's 2008 Athletic Awards Convocation.

Skene was a Third Team All-NJCAA Region III Division III and All-Mountain Valley Conference Team honoree as the freshman outside hitter averaged 3.04 kills per game with 207 in 68 games this season while averaging 2.11 digs per contest with 142 on the year. Skene also amassed 22 blocks and 18 service aces for the Fighting Tigers on the season.

Cobleskill closed the 2007 season with a 17-8 overall record including 4-2 mark in Mountain Valley Conference play earning the program's third consecutive winning season and NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament bid.
