BVAC opens third concert series The Babylon Village Arts Council opens its third season of the Second Thursday Concert series on Thurs., Sept. 11, featuring Milton and the Band. The concert will be held at Astoria Federal Savings Bank located  at 180 West. Main Street, Babylon Village. The music begins at 7:30 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public. Milton is a New York City-based singer/songwriter known in clubs and college radio stations up and down the east coast for his hummable melodies, spot on lyrics, tight, groovy band and soulful, energetic live shows. With his last self-titled CD, released in November 2006, Milton continued to expand upon the fan base created with his debut. His song "In the City" was named one of the best songs of the year by station director Rita Houston. Milton has appeared on bills with artists ranging from Yo La Tengo to Norah Jones to Al Kooper. As a solo act or with his band, Milton played sold-out gigs opening for acts like British pop star Jamie Cullum and singer/songwriter Shelby Lynne Milton continues to pack New York's Living Room and Joe's Pub, where he and the band packed two shows in June 2008 when they launched their new CD "Grand Hotel".
