Marguerite Farrington Burns. Marguerite Farrington Burns. Longtime Babylon Village resident Marguerite "Margie" W. Farrington Burns, who built her own home in Argyle Park, died July 26, 2008 in Burlington, North Carolina after a stroke. She was 83.

Born in Babylon to Shephard H. and Wilhelmina W. Farr ington, she was raised and lived in Babylon Village for most of her life. After raising her children in Argyle Park and the death of her first husband, Francis Boylan, she later married Carroll H. Burns and relocated to Elder Road in Islip. She then lived on on Baywoods Avenue in Bay Shore for many years before moving to North Carolina in 2004 to live closer to family.

A grad of Skidmore College, she returned to Babylon High School as a Physical Education teacher and a tennis coach. She later became a Town of Babylon Director of the Tanner Park Senior Citizens Center in Copiague.

According to her family she loved tennis, swimming, golf and painting water colors as well as entertaining friends and family who will always "remember her- enduring happy attitude" and never forget her.

Mrs. Burns leaves behind her children: Timothy W. Boylan of Babylon, Patty A. Boylan-Donnelly of Burlington, North Carolina and Michael F. Boylan and his wife Maryellen of Nantucket, Massachusetts; her grandchildren: Colin and Briann Donnelly and Timothy, Victoria and Abigail Boylan; her nieces and nephews: Susan, Robert and Libby Farrington; her sister: Grace Farrington; and many friends. She was predeceased by her husbands: Francis M. Boylan and Carroll H. Burns, her brothers: Shephard and Douglas Farrington and her niece, Kip Farrington.

Funeral Services were held at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Babylon August 16, 2008. A private cremation was held.
