West Islip educator honored

Professor Allan Ashley, of West Islip, one of 12 recipients of the Bender Research Fellowship Award for Best Paper this year, received $1,500 in recognition of co-authoring Integrating Pragmatism and Ethics in Entrepreneurial Leadership for Sustainable Value Creation, in the Journal of Business Ethics,

2007. Dr. Ashley was also granted three Best Paper Awards in 2004 and one in 2005, making this his third year and fifth paper to be recognized.

Dr. Ashley is a professor at the Adelphi University School of Business in the Department of Management, Marketing. He earned his Ph.D. in operations research and management and an M.S. in industrial engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute.
