On July 5, Jessica Larsen won her first NASCAR event at Riverhead Raceway. This came exactly one week after her graduation from Babylon Ju­nior/ Senior High School. Jessica is the daughter of Joe Larsen of Sayville and Linda Larsen of Babylon.

Larsen, who started third in the event, took the lead on lap one hold­ing off 20-year veteran Ed Mistret­ta. This is Larsen's third season of competition in the NASCAR-Whel­en All-American Racing Series. Larsen's race car is owned by JTL Enterprises Motorsports LLC and sponsored by ASI Racewear, a Con­stant Performance of Medford, Clean Burn Energy Systems, Medford Auto Wreckers, Oval Speed Unlimited and she continues to promote Big Broth­ers/ Big Sisters of Long Island.
