Paul Borkowski, U.S. Postal Service employee and Babylon resident

Loving patriarch and longtime U.S. Postal Service employee, Paul Borkowski died June 28, 2008. He was 60 years old and considered himself blessed with his family and his faith, according to his family. "Paul lived his life in gratitude with faith and his seemingly unending sup­ply of hope," said his wife and best friend of 21 years Maureen. "He had so much empathy and touched the hearts of any people." Born in Mineola, he lived in East Meadow for many years before mov­ing to Tappan Avenue in Islip 15 years ago. For 32 years, Mr. Borkowski worked as a registry clerk for the post office in the process and delivery of­fice in Flushing. A loving father and grandfather, Mr. Borkowski was a devout parishioner at St. Mary's R.C. in Islip and was a member of the Matt Talbot 22, a retreat. In addition to his wife, Mr. Borkowski also leaves behind his children: Steph­anie Yeager and her husband Kirk of Mastic, Matt who is in the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and Billy of Islip; his grandchild, Casey Yeager; as well as many friends.
