Students at Westbrook Elementary School in West Islip made a donation of $1,085 to the pediatric unit at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. During the school year, all 466 students in grades kindergarten through fifth, held lollipop and bake sales to fulfill the core values of the Character Education Partnership Program.

The Character Education Partnership encourages schools to create environments that promote ethical, responsible and compassionate young people. Westbrook students learned about caring, honesty, fairness, responsibility and respect for themselves and others. The program involves the entire school community and is incorporated into the curriculum.
