Town's planning study is a good move; patience everyone
      The Town of Oyster Bay enacted a mea­sure this week that gives the Town six more months to analyze, review and assess build­ing and code changes in Massapequa. The re­sults of this study will be adopted Town wide when completed and are designed to ensure that the Town does not become over or poor­ly developed.

Free US from foreign oil? Yes we can!
      Dear Editor: Yes, we can drill our way to energy independence for the next 50 years. I am 100 percent in favor of drilling for oil, as this product is the life blood of our economy. Forest Avenue is now being repaved with oil products and that job needs to be done now. We also need oil and gas now so we can drive our cars to work and truckers can bring us the food we eat.

Our Congressional leaders abandoned us in our time of need
      Dear Editor: In case you missed it, Congressman Peter King tried to keep working over the next few weeks so that we would not have to pay too much for heating oil this coming winter. Unfortunately, all Democratic Congressional Repre­sentatives from the Greater New York area decided to obey San Francisco's Nancy Pelosi and adjourn until September 8.
