The Deer Park Community came together to celebrate the multitude of athletic, academic and extracurricular achievements of the graduating class of 2008. Scholarships, gifts, plaques, award certificates and savings bonds were

presented to over 100 students as their names and impressive resumes were announced in front of friends, family, Board of Education members and Deer Park Central Administration. Each department leader presented a multitude of students with awards tailored for their individual excellence. Awards included the Science and Technology Department's Bausch & Lomb Honorary Scholarship, World Languages Department Spanish Embassy Award, and Family and Consumer Science Department's Human Development Award. School-wide awards were presented by Deer Park High School administration and supported by alumni, community businesses, local politicians and in-district organizations. Congressman Steve Israel, Town of Babylon Supervisor Steven Bellone, Suffolk County Legislator Lou D'Amaro and Suffolk County Legislator Steven Stern sponsored

community service, citizenship and political awards for students who give back and reach out to their school, community and beyond. The night also paid tribute to Deer Park students who have passed on including scholarships in memory of Bryan T. Manigault and Ryan T. Horodnicki, as well as alumni who continue to support Deer Park's education and outstanding students. Shown in the photo, Deer Park High School hosted its Annual Senior Awards Ceremony where high school principal Nanine Cuttitta presented district wide awards to members of the graduating class of 2008.
