Rose Marie Romeo, Bay Shore resident and teacher
Longtime Bay Shore reading teacher and resident Rose Marie Romeo died July 8, 2008. She was 78 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, she lived on Massachusetts Avenue in Bay Shore for 48 years. For 20 years, she worked she was a remedial reading teacher's aide at Oak Park Elementary School in Bay Shore until her retirement in 1989. A loving mother and wife, Mrs. Romeo had also been the vice president of her local Parent Teacher Association.
"I knew she was well liked, but even I was surprised by the outpouring of love at her funeral," said her husband Robert.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Romeo leaves behind her children: Donna Fielbig and Robert; her siblings: Sabino, Frank, Pasquale, Dominick, Lucille, Antonio and Mario Vicchiullo; her grandchildren: Edward, Kristin and Dana. She was prede- ceased by her daughter Dawn.
She reposed at the Moloney's Bohemia Funeral Home on July 10, 2008 and a Religious Service was held. A Funeral Mass was said July 11, 2008 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Lake Ronkonkoma.
