THE FOURTH OF JULY CAME IN LIKE A BANG AT OUR LOCAL YACHT CLUBS. The Babylon Yacht Club celebrated with its traditional two-day regatta - boats came from all over the bay. Saturday night, sailors and their crews enjoyed a great barbecue party with everything from soup to nuts - and plenty to eat for all. Large crowds attended, and all had a great time at dinner. Then on Saturday also at the Long Island Yacht club there was a dance party for members and their guests and on Sunday members and their guests enjoyed a delicious brunch party featuring bacon, eggs, waffles, muffins, etc. As usual it was a terrific way to mark the beginning of summer. Lots of old timers on hand, including Joan Kennedy, a charter member of the club, Carolyn Guttmann, and many others. Have a great summer everyone.

CHECK OUT THE DISPLAY CASES AT THE BABYLON LIBRARY. Lots of memorabilia to see and admire such as old pictures of the Conklin House. Hats off to the Library for doing such a great job. Be sure to see it next time you get to the library.

IT WAS A GRAND CELEBRATION on June 29 when Carmen and Ray Accettella celebrated their 64th marriage anniversary at Southward Ho with their seven children, 20 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Remember Father Casey? Not many of us do, but he was the celebrant of the mass who united these two remarkable people who have led such an inspiring life together. We wish them many, many more.

A FABULOUS WEDDING. Mrs. Mary Rink;lin with members of family have returned from her granddaughter Leslie's wedding held at St. Paul Church in Montreal. The bridegroom, Michael Bracken is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Bracken of Princeton, New Jersey. Leslie is the daughter of Cynthia and Vinnie Pagin of Montreal. After their return from their Dubai honeymoon, the couple is living in their Manhattan apartment.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TRIP. Joan Rumplick of Brightwaters and her cousins John and Coleen Marshall of East Hampton are home after a glorious cruise trip to Alaska, which they called, "the most beautiful trip we've ever taken."

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. Yes, even the weather cooperated last Friday night when Fran Pasch was honored at the Joel Sikowitz band concert at the gazebo. Fran was so deserving of the honor, as were all of the honorees in the past. Mark your calendar now. There will be a fundraise3r party at Lily Flanagan's on July 30. Tickets are on sale throughout the Village.
