Lindenhurst softball standout heads to West Chester University in Pennsylvania

Lindenhurst High School softball standout Jen McComb signed a letter of intent to attend West Chester Uni­versity in Pennsylvania for the fall. She has been the team's all-star catcher for the past four years and is a true leader on and off the field. "Jen has an amaz­ing understanding for the game," said Coach Megan Scharf. Jen is also presi­dent of the Lindenhurst High School Student Council. She started playing softball in the seventh grade and started travel a year later. She plays softball all year and en­joys travelling for tournaments in the summer. McComb also plays for the Long Island Express. She played vol­leyball

until her junior year, when she decided to focus on softball. McComb is excited to start the next chapter in her life at West Chester. She plans to major in health and physical education. "The players and coaches really made me feel wanted," said Mc­Comb. "West Chester was the best choice to let me pursue what I want in balancing playing softball, getting good grades, and a social life."

She enjoys hanging out with her friends, the computer, driving around with no particular destination, the mov­ies,

and the Mets. "I love anything that can make me laugh," she said.
