Teufel is called up into active duty
SSG Thomas C. Teufel, Black Hawk crew chief and instructor for Bravo Company 3/142nd AHB and his unit departed on June 7 for Fort Sill, Oklahoma for two months of special training. Once they are finished at the end of August, they will take their 10 helicopters
Shown is the Canine and Airport operations group. and go to Balad, Iraq. The unit will serve 10 months before they will be able to return to their families. Teufel is a 1988 graduate of West Babylon High School and a Suffolk Canine Police Officer. He has taken military leave from his job and hopes to return to active duty by July of 2009. He is also leaving his wife Nicole and two sons Tyler, age five and Zachary, age two. His parents, Donald and Stephanie, his brother David and his sisters Susan and Karen live in West Babylon while his other sister Christine resides in North Carolina. The Suffolk Canine Unit and Airport Operations came out to wish Tom and Ricky Gianotti (a Suffolk County Police helicopter pilot) good luck on their new mission
