Bellone opens up yet another shoreline
      A celebration of the opening of the waterfront at Tanner Park July 4 was indeed, a "grand" opening. The day featured a variety of festivities, including music by Al Jardine and his Endless Summer Band in the new bandshell. Jardine is the legendary founder and member of the Beach Boys, an appropriate musi­cian in an appropriate setting.

Commack Road improvements need to be made walker-friendly
      Recently, a 41-year old pedestrian was killed while walking along Commack Road. His killer was caught, thanks to a man who followed the hit and run driver. But there are others who must be held responsible: namely, Suffolk County. Friends of the Edgewood Preserve has, for some time now, warned County officials about the dangerous conditions along Commack Road.
