New lighting on turf field imposes on residents

Dear Editor:
When choosing to move forward on the plan to light the athletic fields, did the school district take into consideration the residents and their homes that are adjacent to the field? What is the plan - to light the field two, three, four or more times a season?
I am one of those residents, and when the portable lighting has been used, my house glows on the inside. I can handle it twice a year, but not if it is going to be a regular happening.
The Turf Committee estimates the cost at $90,000 for installation - but who's going to pay the electric bill? Answer: The taxpayers.
