Based on their outstanding academic record, seven talented high school students were given the title of Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar by the College Board earlier this fall and now, as a result of her outstanding record, Babylon High School senior Shannon O'Malley has also been added to this prestigious list. In order to qualify for this high academic recognition, a student must earn a passing grade of three or higher on three or more AP exams.

For this honor, O'Malley was recently recognized and commended by the Board of Education and administration for a job well done.

Shown in the photo, are Board of Education President Darrell J. Conway and (at right) Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ellen Best-Laimit congratulating Shannon O'Malley for being named an Advanced Placement Scholar by the College Board. Also pictured is O'Malley's mother Barbara Moriarty.
