•The following local residents have been named to the dean's list at the University of Scranton for the fall 2007 semester: Megan E. Callahan and Ryan J. Stillwell of West Babylon, Matthew S. Gravier and Charles T. Sciangula of North Babylon and Kristina M. Sauerland of West Islip.

•Nicole D. Trinceri, of Lindenhurst, a psychology major at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts was named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester.

•Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, Hicksville, has announced its "A" and "B" honor rolls for the second academic quarter of the 2007/ 2008 school year. To be named to the "A" honor roll a students needs a minimum weighted average of 90 percent and for the "B" honor roll, 85 percent is needed. Named to the "A" honor roll from our area are Jeannine Florio of Babylon; Robert Grieb of Deer Park; Margaret Ayers, Giancarlo Casella and Cristian Mendoza of Lindenhurst and Najimie Alice, Breanna Amorde and Brianne Weiss of West Babylon. Named to the "B" honor roll are Holli Locker of Deer Park, Erin Hayes of North Babylon and Jade Greco of West Babylon.

•Named to the dean's list at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts are the following West Islip residents: Alexandra R. Contos, Craig T. Sini, Carly E. Maverick, Shakeib Afzal, Burin Poomchonghko and Dan T. Wissing.

•Named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York are the following local residents: from Deer Park is Daniel P. Hashim and from West Islip are Katherine M. DeBlasio, Judith U. Kastner, William J. Marchese, Matthew T. Matassa and James R. Wisniewski.

•Named to the dean's list at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Connecticut for the fall 2007 semester are Brittany Logan of Lindenhurst; Amy Berkowitz, Katie Reilly and Marcella Repetto of Babylon; Gina Figalore of North Babylon; Alice Kessler, Michael Viscuso, Gina Marzano and Alexandra Mattson all of West Babylon and Cheryl Huber, Cristin Kopher, Catilin Pearlman, Sarah Rogan and Ivanna Williams of West Islip.

•Allison Gottlieb and Shari Gottlieb of West Babylon were named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester in the School of Management at Binghamton University of the State University of New York.

•Cody Hoyt, of Babylon, shown above, a student at the State University of New York College at Cortland, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester. He is currently a physical education major in his junior year. While attending Cortland, he earned a starting position playing for the men's lacrosse team and making the national finals two times in the NCAA, winning in his first year. Hoyt is a 2005 graduate of Babylon High School and the son of Jeff and Eileen Hoyt.
