Babylon Schools show appreciation to board members
At the recent Babylon School District Board of Election meeting, members of the administration, staff and community applauded the 7-member board for their dedication and commitment to the students and Babylon community. During this special presentation, which was celebrated in honor of Board Appreciation Week, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Best-Laimit, Legislator Wayne Horsley and Babylon Teacher's Association President Dennis Lally commended the Board for the work they do to ensure that the district continues to succeed. Members of the high schools brass quartet and vocal express were also on hand to perform a few musical selections in honor of the evening.
"Rather than tanking each of you as elected officials. I see you as my colleagues," stated Dr. Best-Laimit. "These individuals work day in and day out with one goal in mind - the education of the children of Babylon. In all my years in education I have never worked with a finer group of individuals."
As a token of their appreciation each of the presenters gifted the board members with special keepsakes to commemorate the celebration.
