Longtime Amityville resident Mamie Branch spent her life in a graceful, loving way, according to her family. She was 102 years old when she died Jan.10, 2008 at Berkshire Nursing Home in West Babylon.
She was born Oct. 9, 1905, the eldest of three children to Shelton and Claudia (Archer) Zachary in Hertford, North Carolina. In addition to Amityville she had also lived in Stamford, Connecticut.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 1982.
